A historic $116.8B infrastructure spend is reshaping Queensland as it gears up for the 2032 Games.
Delivering a World-Class Brisbane 2032 Games
The 2032 Games are more than a two-week sporting event – they are a catalyst for long-term economic, social and infrastructure benefits. Queensland is progressing the 2032 Delivery Plan with $4.7 billion dedicated to developing modern Games venues and athlete villages. This investment will support thousands of jobs in construction, engineering, planning, and operations, while ensuring that communities across Brisbane and regional Queensland have access to legacy facilities once the Games conclude.

The Safer Roads, Better Transport Plan: Busting Congestion and Improving Safety
Getting Queensland’s busy roads flowing again with the Safer Roads, Better Transport Plan including Barron River Bridge, the Bribie Island Bridge, the Caloundra Congestion Busting Plan and Mooloolah River Interchange with $41.7 billion in new and upgraded roads, bridges and transport over 4 years.
Transforming Public Transport with ‘The Wave’ Rail to the Sunshine Coast
One of Queensland’s most anticipated transport projects, The Wave, will deliver seamless public transport from Brisbane all the way to the Sunshine Coast Airport.
The plan includes heavy passenger rail to Birtinya and a metro link through the Maroochydore CBD to the airport. An additional $40 million has now been committed to accelerate planning for Stages 2 and 3, moving the Sunshine Coast closer to an integrated, high-capacity public transport future.
Faster Rail Between Logan and the Gold Coast
To keep pace with population growth and rising commuter demand, Queensland is delivering $5.75 billion in jointly funded works to build a Faster Rail connection between Logan and the Gold Coast.
This will significantly reduce travel times, boost network reliability, and improve access between two of the fastest-growing regions in Australia.

These upgrades will help keep communities connected during severe weather events, support regional freight networks, and improve everyday travel for families, farmers, and essential services.
Securing Queensland’s Water Future
Water security remains a top priority for regional communities and agriculture. A $37.7 million investment from 2024–25 will deliver:
- Five new weirs along the Thomson River in Longreach
- Completion of the Barlil and Cooranga Weirs
- Improved water supply reliability across the Burnett region, including the Boyne River and Barambah Creek

These projects will help expand storage capacity and ensure long-term resilience for farming and regional industries.
Rebuilding Paradise Dam
The Government is committing $96.9 million in 2025–26 for continued planning and enabling works to rebuild Paradise Dam, restoring critical water security for the Wide Bay–Burnett region.
Rebuilding the dam is essential to supporting local agriculture, enhancing flood resilience, and safeguarding the region’s economic future.
