The B in BMD stands for founder and Group Board Chairman and Managing Director, Mick Power’s sister Beverley and her husband Bevan who were both partners in the business for the first 12 months. Urbex was established in 2003 and undertakes residential and commercial development projects in sole ownership, joint venture and consortium partnerships throughout Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Cairns, Darwin, Townsville and Mackay. ²

What are some current projects BMD is involved in?
Inland Rail
A partnership between BMD Constructions and Fulton Hogan, trading as InLink has been selected as the contractor for construction of Parkes to Narromine section of the Inland Rail Project between Melbourne and Brisbane. The JV has been granted $300 million funding for the first section of the 1,700km rail line. The company is currently upgrading the existing rail infrastructure to prepare for heavier and longer freight trains.
Springfield Central Sports Complex
Partnering with JMac, Ipswich City Council and Lendlease, BMD is continuing to work on the construction of the Springfield Central Sports Complex.
This sporting development in Greater Springfield worth $67 million is due for completion this year and will include 8 tennis courts, 16 netball courts, 8 rectangular fields, 4 ovals, an athletics track, 3 clubhouses and 600 car parks.
Princes Highway West Upgrade
BMD Constructions is progressing works in south-west Victoria, having installed the final six bridge beams over Birregurra Creek.
Yan Yean Road Upgrade between Diamond Creek Road and Kurrak Road in Melbourne’s North
The construction started in December 2017 and is expected to be completed by mid-2019. It involves intersections upgrade, dangerous road bends removal and switching traffic onto newly completed sections of road.
Brisbane Airport Runway
BMD together with CPB Contractors as the Skyway Joint Venture is building Brisbane’s new runway.
