Licensed Surveyor Job Description (Chartered/Cadastral)

A charted/ cadastal / licensed surveyor requires you to have attainded the appropiate licence to work as a surveyor on projects in that particulat state or territory. People that work as a licenced surveyor ususally have direct manangement responsibilities.

Usual Responsibilities: 

  • Setting-out, conducting as-builts, calculations and traversing (when necessary)
  • Collecting and managing data
  • Working across multi-faceted projects
  • Assisting in the management & direction of the field surveyors
  • Overseeing the team and project work
  • Agreeing and signing off developments
  • Interfacing on a daily/weekly basis with clients
  • Developing further work pipelines and putting together pricing submissions for this new work.

Requirements for Licensed Surveyor:

  • 5+ years in the surveying industry
  • Extensive planning experience
  • Degree qualification
  • Are a licensed surveyor with cadastral endorsement (or in the process) for the relevant state/ territory/ location.
  • Excellent in survey management, strong in land development process & requirements.
  • Sound knowledge of cadastral legislation & subdivision process.
  • A proactive and solutions-orientated attitude with good problem-solving capability.
  • Successful in being a leader that has demonstrated influence on people to drive results.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively develop a working relationship with personnel
  • Able to work autonomously and in a team

Average salage: $95k to $150k dependent on experience.
