Road Network Inspector Job Description
The primary purpose of your role as a Road Network Inspector is to undertake Hazard and Defect inspections of roads and roadside assets. The Network Inspector is a key position in the network maintenance field to deliver, monitor, audit, evaluate, and report activities occurring in or impacting road network corridors.
Usual Responsibilities
- Understanding safety inspections and identifying defects within the road corridor across the network.
- Recording defects and safety of the network via tablet and camera systems.
- Conducting condition surveys for the asset management system
- Identify and recommend the relevant remedial treatment for identified asset defects, provide an estimate of the scope, size, and timing of the treatment
- Compiling inventory information and records
- Reporting of defects that will form the basis of the routine maintenance works program
- Scheduling and completion of end product audits
- Capture visual information regarding on / off road condition using digital equipment
- Investigate customer complaints and queries
Requirements
- 5 years + experience in a production-related role, and ideally have come from a trade or operator background originally involved in road construction or maintenance works.
- Previous work history with a main contractor, council, or local authority on small to medium scale road project sizes.
- Extensive commitment and understanding to all matters relating to H&S and the environment
- Ideally obtained maintenance experience and/or qualification
- Previous experience in identifying all aspects of defects within the road corridor.
