HSEQ Advisor Job Description
HSEQ Advisors develop procedures and design systems to protect people from illness, injury and property from damage. They combine knowledge of engineering, health, and safety to ensure that chemicals, machinery, software, furniture, and other products will not cause harm to people or damage to property.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with procedures and legislative and regulatory requirements for health and safety
- Identify and correct hazards or potential hazards by inspecting safety equipment, machinery, and facilities of a construction site
- Ensure that HSEQ induction and training are provided to all relevant employees
- Review safety devices on equipment, the machinery of direct installation of devices
- Investigate any incidents, injuries, or near misses recommending effective and appropriate corrective actions
- Undertake audits to verify compliance and manage Subcontractor compliance
- Promote and implement best practice management systems and safety in the workplace
Requirements
- Experience in a construction or engineering environment within the Health and Safety, Environment or Quality areas
- Excellent skills in setting priorities, planning, time management, organising and communication
- Ability to positively influence improved health and safety outcomes
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships internally and externally
- Have an Engineering degree, diploma or other relevant qualifications
Working Conditions
- Work both on-site and in an office environment depending on when construction projects take place
Average Salary
- $105k – $125k per year in Australia
